Short Course in CPR

  • HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • This is a blended course with self-paced online and face-to-face training
  • Online training - 2 Hours
  • Face. to Face Assessment - 2 Hours



This unit provides the skills and knowledge needed to perform CPR, following the guidelines of the Australian Resuscitation Council. It is designed for anyone who may be required to perform CPR in the workplace or within the community.

To take part in this course, participants must be physically able to perform resuscitation and have clear verbal communication skills to provide accurate information to emergency services.

Ongoing assessments will be conducted throughout the course, including practical skill demonstrations as well as written and oral questions to assess foundational knowledge. Please note: CPR must be demonstrated on the floor as part of the practical assessment.

Short Course in First Aid and CPR

  • HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid
  • This is a blended course with self-paced online and face-to-face training
  • Online training - 4 Hours
  • Face. to Face Assessment - 4 Hours



This unit covers the skills and knowledge needed to provide a first aid response to a casualty, in line with guidelines from the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other national clinical authorities. It is suitable for anyone who may need to give first aid in a workplace or community setting.

To take part in this course, participants must be physically able to perform resuscitation and have clear verbal communication skills to provide accurate information to emergency services. as well as the written communication skills needed for the completion of a First Aid Incident Report.

Ongoing assessments will be conducted throughout the course, including practical skill demonstrations as well as written and oral questions to assess foundational knowledge. Please note: CPR must be demonstrated on the floor as part of the practical assessment.

Courses for Educators


Short Course in First Aid for Education and Care

  • HLTAID012 - Provide First aid in an Education or Care setting
  • This is a blended course with self-paced online and face-to-face training
  • Online training - 5 Hours
  • Face. to Face Assessment - 5 Hours
  • Onsite group based training



This course is designed for educators and support staff in schools or childcare services who may need to respond to first aid emergencies. It also aligns with Work Health and Safety (WHS) guidelines and meets the legislative requirements for workplace first aid training.

No prior units are required. Participants should be physically capable of performing first aid and have the communication skills to report incidents verbally to emergency services and complete written documentation. A short quiz may be conducted before face-to-face training to assess language, literacy, and numeracy skills.

Ongoing assessments will be conducted throughout the course, including practical skill demonstrations as well as written and oral questions to assess foundational knowledge. Please note: CPR must be demonstrated on the floor as part of the practical assessment.
